Much of the author's research and teaching is in the area of STEM education. She is an assistant professor of early childhood at the University of Cincinnati after a long career as a preschool teacher and as the associate director for professional development at the Arlitt Child Care and Family Research and Education Center, the award-winning laboratory preschool to the University of Cincinnati's College of Education.
